Iseriously think in a few years the world will be run by cell phones i mean look at this picture what could u possibly need a cell phone in a rally car for

Engine settings ?

Let coaches or whoever see how the engine is running remotely, etc

Its probably in case of Emergency. If they tumble off a cliff or the car catches fire, all that radio equipment goes with it.

Thats nothing tho... In sweden people use cell phones to open their front door.

All rally cars carry cell phones... For breakdowns and other issues that cannot/should not be discussed on open channel 2-way radios.

If you look on WRC races on SpeedTV... usually after they'll finish the stage the co-drive will pick up the celly and make a call.
