So, a buddy of man who's a "mechanic" decides he's going to test drive my 2002 ZX3 to check out an issue unrelated to this thread. As he is driving the car he is jamming it in out of gear to try and duplicate the other issue. In any event, he parks the car, pulls up the emergency brake and proceeds to run it through all 5 gears with each one popping worse than the last. Then he turns the car off and attempts to restart it again to no avail. This was never an issue previous to his rough treatment of the car. When I go to start her up later, nothing.....It strikes me that something happened to the clutch during this ridiculous "test drive" of his so, I take a look at the clutch pedal area and immediately notice after moving the clutch down by hand that there now seems to be too much distance between the button on the clutch arm and the starter button and it needs to be engaged by hand to get her to turn over. Please tell me there is an easy fix for this....I'm no mechanic....and apparently neither is my "friend" (who would admit to no wrong doing the next day despite the fact that the car turned over just fine prior to his "emergency brake gear shift-fest)....Please help. Thanks in advance for any advice!
