The latest issue of EVO has a small blurb and spy shots of what is supposedly a Cosworth Focus. Actually it's a red Focus RS "mule" said to have AWD running gear.

Of course this is based on the C1 platform which is said to have a wider track along with a longer wheelbase.

They claim 300HP from a "new" 2.0L, 4 cyl. engine (that has 150HP in base trim) which is turbocharged along with the aforementioned AWD.

Also of note, interior trim and switchgear is said to be aiming at "VW" level quality.

Due to bow at the Frankfurt motor show, September 2005.

I take all these reports with a grain of salt, but thought I'd just stir the pot a little.

so far this is what I got....

SVT/RS turbo car for the U.S. will be a 2005 model....but no for sure on awd of fwd....

supposedly awd isn't till the 2007 or higher model year...

no im with COSitsWORTHit on that one...sounds very accurate considering the the battle between the 4 bangers lately...the SVT focus may be a dam good handler but put up against the srt neon is cannot compare in power...and the EVO/STi are in a completely different game with handling and power...im thinking they'll come out with a turbo model for 2005 with the new stang coming out soon, to keep interest in the younger poorer crowd....then throw out and all out scorcher 2 years later (but by that time they'll be several other 4cyls ready to take it away from ford again) after all the, um, well letz put it like this, "GAY packagaes ford turns out"(thanx for the quote nazthug)....

The C-Max, S40, and Mazda3 bow this fall and winter in europe. with the Mazda3 in N.A. this fall and S40 this winter or early 2004.

the C1 Focus should begin European Roll out late next year, or even early 2005, and finish roll out by summer or fall 2005. The US C1 focus should follow in 2006.

We will know more by Frankfurt.
