you will have to wait a long time to get that kit..

they could definitely work together but honestly the stroker kit is serious overkill. you can get a quality longblock assembly custom built for much less, or diy for less then that. i dont think ive ever heard of anyone with a stroker kit on the zetec, maybe some professional racers have used them, who knows.
That stroker kit is some serious cash. I think that it would be better with a turbo, unless you have an SVT. The M45 blower in the regular zetec kit is maxing as it is.

I mean, I'm a roots/JRSC fan, but a fellow jetter stubbornly went forward with the stroker kit/M45 combo and regretted it. Was it Noveon? I'm not sure. . .
Yeah...for the torque/hp that a stroker build-up would warrant, the zetec JRSC would not be a good choice. The longer stroke usually means more tq, and turbo means tq, so a turbo that would give a good amount of air would be awesome.

On the other hand, people are making way too much tq/hp on stock and built bottom ends. A zetec stroker kit would be a much higher dollar/hp figure. I built a stroker small block chevy and it was one of the most fun projects I have ever done. It is great in my 5,000 pount four-wheeler, but I want something revvy and something that can get good gas mileage with in my econobox. Good luck with your project.
JRSC + $3,000 Stroker Motor = 200hp of useless.

..now a PW kit.

I only have three words on this subject

Waste
Of
Time
Now that is not very nice

Maybe a waste of money, but it wouldn't be much more time than a built stock stroke bottom end (which is still overkill for JRSC).

eh, wouldnt say its overkill. id like to see a nice purpose built longblock for the m45. a little boost from jrsc on top of a high compression motor could produce similar cylinder pressures as a turbo on low comp, with some added benefits like the ability to charge out of the hole.

that being said id never trade my turbo for an sc. the philosophy of turbocharging(harnessing waste energy) is so much more elegant and efficient then parisitic sapping of the crank. the more the merrier though.

If something is considered overkill, then how can you not consider something overkill that would--by your definition--require only a bit more time?

Even the PW kit doesn't have the potential to justify this setup...

With the low end you will be picking up from a stroker kit, plus the roots powerband + the ability for 300+whp makes it a lot more justifiable than the JRSC.

So do yall think a turbo kit and the stroker kit would be a better match??? The thing is that The stroker kit is being given to me by my uncle and the rest of the family is giving me $$ for b-day and x-mas, so i need something to spend it on.
turbo with the low cr stroker would be much better imo. your family is very generous and theyre giving you the potential to make a pretty quick car. keep it safe, be responsible.
spend it on me!! pm for my paypal!!

You will definately be making a bunch of tq/hp if you built a turbo/stroker project. You will also want a limited slip and a good clutch (I see you have a centerforce) and a good pair of drag tires if you plan to take it to the strip. Tuning is gonna be key...maybe you could take it to Randy in SoCal. Good luck again.
tell your uncle to pay for the tranny (lsd,fw,clutch, ect)and the new rods and pistons and some main caps should come out to close to the same price as the Stroker kit and turbo the car all u need 300 to 400 hp easy with a good tune
