Looks great Steve! When did you tint the tail lights?

Looks great man! Nice and cleeeean. The tails look like they were tinted perfectly in my opinion. Dark, but just light enough to show a hint of red...I love that look. What's your future plans for her??

Thanks guys, I tinted the tails last week. Not as easy as I would have thought.

I applied a couple coats and let it dry overnight and it looked horrible, flat, glossy, orange peeled.

I wet sanded them with 600 and slapped em on the car so I could get to work then after work masked off the area around them and hit them about 6 times with 3M polishing compound and then about 5 layers of wax to get the look you see.

It was funny because the pics were taken on a public road through the Minnesota fairgrounds and while I was taking the pics a security gaurd rolled up and says "nice looking car" and just kept on rolling.

Plans just include doing what I can as I can afford to do things, a little at a time.

I'm pretty sure the corners are next but I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do.

I've really got to get a couple more layers of wax on it, I forgot what it looked like to actually have the water bead up and run off.

looks good!

I would go with clear side markers so that they disappear. Dark shaded markers on a light colored car draw the focus of the eye away from the flow of the body lines and seem to just say "hey look at these big black spots on my bumper".

looks good steve.

on the nightshade, I had the same issues when I've done other things. I wetsanded a ton and then hit it with some clear. wetsand, and clear again. Came out great!

I'd to take credit for the reason he detailed...LOL Steve got jealous the one night, he say Chromie and the water just beaded on the car for hours...while everyone elses were waterspotted...LMAO...

You need tire stuff or something too. The tires next to the glossy wheels are too dirty looking...imo...

You Ricer...

Looks great, in fact looks exactly what mine would look like with tinted tails! Problem for me is, eEverytime I go to get tinted tails, I just can't go through with it. The red offsets everything so nicely, and yet I still have the itch to swap them out with something.

...oh, love your wheels too.

You're right about the water spotting, not long after these pics some birds decided to decorate my car and even after the crap (litterally) dries on all I had to do was rinse it and then run it down the road to blow most of the water off and the car looked great again.

If anyones wondering I used Meguiars liquid, I started with Turtle wax carnuba but i would have had a heart attack getting it all back off the car.

As for the "dirty" tires? If I could find a decent tire black that won't paint the side of my car and pick up extra dirt like glue I'd use it.

Any suggestions? I won't use a spray on tire black because it gets on the rims and makes it that much harder to clean the wheels.

How are those corners coming :)
