Does anyone know a way to disable the chip key? I lost one of my keys only to find out that you have to have both keys to make a spare.. What sense does that make? Another thing they didn’t bother to tell me when I bought the car. Anyhow they want $80 for a new key. I figure that with the ingenuity on this board someone knows how to bypass or disable this feature altogether. I know that if you want to install a remote start there is something you can buy to send a false signal but I think that you need both keys to program this too. Any help at all is appreciated.

Is this something that you have done? Was it hard to get out. I was afraid it would be molded in and I would endup breaking it just trying to get it appart. If its just the chip I'd probably be able to tape it inside the column so theres nothing stuck to the outside.

thats what Im talking about, disable the whole system, I think like 10 cars a year get stolen here and 9 of those are boneheads who leave the car running and unlocked when they go inside..so I don't need this. Its just a huge headache and expense.
