wrapped my focus around a pole a couple of years back. Still have the remains of my former car in my garage. lately my family has been in need of another dependable car so i've been shopping around and found a 2003 focus zx3 in great shape except for the fact that it's transmission is busted. So my question is, can my 02 tranny fit the 03 zx3? i need to know for sure they're compatible so lmk. I want my focus back

Well it depends on the motor if its a zetec to zetec then yes it will work zetec to duratec will not work same as zetec to spi or svt

yes but the different motors had different transmissions, so if your old car has a zetec and the new car is a zetec then yes it will work but the zetec wont work with a spi or duratec transmission and vise versa

Here ill give you a reasons why this is the zetec manual is a 5 speed mtx75 the duratec manual is also a 5 speed mtx 75 but has a different bellhousing that will not match to a zetec engine spi I have no clue what the manual trans name is ik though it is not a mtx 75 as for the svt it is a 6speed and is called the getrag no other engine but a svt will work with it on a side note the duratec and zetec mtx75s can be interchanged if you change their bellhousing apropriate for the motor you need it for

This sort of helps me. But I have the 2003 zx3 5sp 2.0 zetec. My gear selector on the Trans went out and I have no gears period. I was told there are 4 different transmission for my specific vehicle. Does anyone know what the difference is between them? My trans code is trrp0. Will a 2s4r7 fit and work? Can't find either the part or the Trans without paying over 1800.

Sounds like you broke the roll pin in the shift tower. Relatively easy fix.

Ok, so you were out one day and went to shift- bam, you're stuck in neutral. The shifter won't do anything. At least I hope you're stuck in neutral. If you're stuck in any other gear, then you'll need to figure out how to get yourself back into neutral, or skip the parts relating to resetting...

I'm in process of removing shift tower now. Wish I could find a whole new one. Ford don't offer it and no part stores know what it is
