Ok so can someone tell me is the VF engineering worth the extra money VS the MAC dogbone mount?

Explain please

Thank you!

I just put poly bushings in my stocker.

It's mostly a difference of appearance. The VF mount is a lot prettier than the stock mount. It's also an easier install, and leaves you a perfect stock mount if you ever want to reinstall it.

Should all be about the same. CFM has good stuff too and they are a sponsor.

Although putting the Energy inserts should be mandatory for all Focus owners when they leave the dealers lot, the stock aluminum dog bone is not the strongest piece in the world. For most NA apps, its probably jsut fine, but I broke one rather swiftly with turbo power. The MAC mount is whats under that car now. The Poly bushing material is by far the highest durometer (stiffest) and the fact that it has greasable fittings means it should last the longest. The price is right too. My vote for best lower mount - MAC.

The aluminum VF mount has held up fine to the abuse that I have put it through.

Mandatory for sporting drivers whose Focuses are equipped with the MTX-75 and only the most hardcore automatic drivers... ;)

The nature of the torque convertor's constant loading while idling in gear loads the mounts and transmits unacceptable levels of vibration to the passenger cabin. Tapping into neutral is an option, but one that not all auto drivers will perform. Speaking of hardcore, perhpas a looser convertor would mitigate this situation somewhat.

I thought we were talking about inserts!

Well, the obvious difference is that VF's part is machined from a solid piece, while MAC's is welded from sheet and tube. Without knowing what the materials used are, I would say that the VF piece is probably stronger. I don't know about CFM's, but it looks to be constructed a lot like VF's, but with a larger "small" bushing.

You would please explain why?
I had the inserts on my 00 ZX3. My 06 with the CFM mount doesn't vibrate as much. Like pitchblack23 wrote, it has a larger bushing where most others use the small one like the factory.

My top choices where CFM and VF. I chose CFM.

True in some cases. I think alot of it has to do with computer idle settings. I've been in some autos where the vibe's were totally unliveable, whereas some arent even detectable. One of the guys here's girlfriend has an 03' sedan auto with a PW. Just about the only other mod is the VF lower and the car behaves like a stocker in the NVH department. She loves it.

For myself, I would take even alot of vibes if I had a higher horse auto.

With an auto would raising the idle a few hundred rpms (to about 1krpm) help the vibrations like it did in my manual?

I have an auto...the balance shaft is real culprit with vibrations, take that out youll get some vibes! heh anywayz Im going with VF mount, I'm one of those hardcore automagic drivers so i'll let you know how it fairs in a month :)

When I took out my balance shaft I didnt get that many more vibs.
