I'm putting my Focus in storage for an extended period of time. So I want to drain the gas from my tank. Can't seem to get it done.

I've tried siphoning it out. I've tried running the fuel pump to pump it out. Neither was successful.

How do I drain the gas tank? I've search to no avail even though I could swear I read it here before.

Can somebody help me out, please?

Thanks

Unfortunately the car is already up on jack stands and the insurance coverage has been cancelled. So just driving until the tank is empty isn't a viable option anymore.

Surely when all the bad fuel pumps went in for repair, Ford doesn't drive the customers cars out of gas. There must be a way to drain them.

I would just get some Stabil and put it in the tank. Its a fuel stabilizer you can get at motorcycle shops. The only way to drain the tank completely is to remove it from the car.
