generally it will make a rather loud motor sounding noise. If you look to the right of the intake manifold, you should see the cable "revving" itself back and forth.... That would be your sign that it is broken.

Thank you so it might be something similar to the way my <font color="red">S</font>plit <font color="red">P</font>ort <font color="red">I</font>ntake works.

you should be able to hear a different sound to your engine when it switches over....stock it should do so around 6-6500 and with most tunes, lower...like 5k.

if yours is busted, you can get a replacement...but its still plastic crap. I recommend trying my HowTo

Its stronger than a new part and will most likely never have to be changed again.
