Ok- time to do a little recon...
I need any and all input regarding dynamometer facilites you deal with. What type of dyno does your shop use? What services does your facility offer? Tuning assistance, or just "strap it and spin it"? Are retail items available (exhaust, intakes etc.)? How are you charged- by the run, 2 runs for a set price, etc.? How much do you pay? How far do you/would you travel if the facility is not local?

Anything I missed- feel free to pipe up.
Thanks in advance for your input.

I am involved w/ a facility-in-the-making. Close to completion. Trying to gather consumer input from other than oval track Chevy peeps is tough in this neck of the woods.

There are two dyno shops within 10 blocks of me.

The first one is Apex Motorsports. They quoted me $100 for 3 pulls w/ wideband O2.

The second is the Mustang Ranch. They quoted me $75 for 3 pulls w/ wideband O2.

They are both running a Dynojet (platform type w/ lift), but I don't know the model number.

Both offer tuning services by the hour (I don't recall the price for either), and both offer parts/sales.. although they both seem to cater primarily to the V8/V10 crowd as far as parts go.

Mustang Ranch does not have the ability to dyno 6 cylinder motors... something about not having the correct adapter... only 4 and 8s.

Hey Tom,
How long does it usually take for you to tune a focus? I live about 5 hours away, but if it wont cost me too much I would drive there to get mine tune since you probably have to most experience on tuning the focus on the east coast. thanks.

Tom and Omni- Thank you!
Prices are less than I expected. Not a bad thing, just new at this game.
Tom or anyone- any exposure to Dynapack products? Good, bad, whatever.
Just got back from the shop- messing w/ drainage, oil separator, floor layout, etc. No heat, 6 hours, 16 degrees out- I CAN'T FEEL MY FEET!!!
Thanks again- and keep the posts coming...

Just a small note: *WHO* is tuning your car is of exponentially more importance then how much they charge. Find someone who really knows what they are doing and then then consider pricing.

Tom has some allright prices... The local shop here in Phoenix charges

$55 a half hour

$100 an hour

Then every hour after that gets cheaper like $90 the next hour or something like that.

This is with a wideband and full tuning. Whatever you want him to do.
