ECU Program and ROM level display

Does anyone know how the 'ROM level' displayed when you put your instrument cluster in Test Mode relates to the ECU Program version (if it does at all)?

On my 2003 SVTF with RLA6 I get ROM level 22 (r22) on the lcd display. Any one else want to volunteer theirs?

This would be a great way to verify that our upgrades have been performed.

Great Post, Jazz. My dealer said they gave me the YRF0 update but I don't feel any change. When I perform the Test, I get 22 for the ROM level and E001 for the EE level.

Question still remains: what do these values mean in relation to the PCM calibration???
Those who have had the YRF0 update, would you be kind enough to check your ROM level and let us know what you get? Also, please include your build year.

Hopefully, we'll find some correlation between the numbers!

Mine: 2003, RLA6, no reflashes (yet!) -- r22, e001

I'll check tomorrow morning, but you can also tell if you have the latest ECU if you hear the DSI cable open the short runners at 5000 instead of 6.
My '02 was RLA1 -> RLA6 ->YRFO
I show (r 22) and (E001) for my codes.
No DTC codes.

I got YRF0 a couple weeks ago.

Same codes - (r 22) (E001)
i was updated to rla6 (i havent upgraded to yrfo yet) and my dsi switches at 5k for sure.
My dealer claimed to have givin me the newest update, but it wasn't on the sheet showing what they did so I am not sure. I got r22 and e001 for mine. I know for sure they did the RLA6 update, not sure about the YRF0.
mine show r20 and E005
anyone know what E005 mean Thank you
An old thread but since it was bumped I'm fairly certain that the ROM readout in question is for the controller in the instrument cluster and has nothing to do with the powertrain control module (i.e. computer/ECU). It is only giving identification/revision information about itself (just like the instrument cluster will only show certain codes related to the cluster).

If you want to know what computer programming revision your car came with there was usually a sticker on the passenger side end of the dash that you could see when opening the door. It was also marked on the computer itself (which is located behind the glove box area but you may need to remove it to see the bar code and other information).

If the dealer states they applied the latest update, which is usually the only one they can reflash, then that's 99.99% what is in your car. Many times they are also supposed to place a sticker in the underhood area showing a compliant reflash has been applied meeting the same emission standards and this will usually have the calibration code.
