Hi, I have a 2013 focus navigator 1.6 TDI, the gearbox mount bolt snapped and the engine dropped forward hanging on the other two mounts. I had it recovered home and have since replaced the gearbox mount and the bracket, I also replaced the O/S engine mount aswell. I am in the process of Changing the lower rear mount but it is out of alignment. The engine appears to be to far to the O/S and I have spent ages trying to move the engine over by levering it but nothing works. Nothing is touching and by looking at the engine from above it appears to be in the right place but the bracket for the mount says otherwise. Has anyone any ideas on how I can sort this out.

I had a similar issue after having multiple mounts out at once.

As you are trying to move the engine, do you have the other mounts loosened? If not, you need to. Also it's helpful to jack up the engine to take the weight/pressure off the mounts and then try to move it around.

Hi thanks for the message, I have tried to move the engine with all the mounts loose but it didn't seem to move much... It's been a real pain as what should be a straight forward job has taken all day and still one mount isn't done. How easy should it be to move the engine with the other mounts loose?

It's definitely not easy, the engine and transmission are heavy. Jacking it up seems to help though if you haven't done that. You can also try just loosening one mount and jacking it around to see if it settles in a different spot.

No real alignment there. Jack engine/trans up just enough to barely neutralize the weight and they become pretty easily moveable. Center both ends in the middle of hole slop both front to rear and side to side and tighten then go after the lower rear last. You have to swing trans back some to line up the holes, the engine sits in slightly at a tilt to keep all tight.

Consider the pass side mount and the top of trans mount as the legs on a child's swingset, the engine/trans bolted there then will swing back and forth at the bottom like a swing. You swing trans back a bit like holding a child in swing and ready to let it go, the trans is held in place like that by the mount, it does NOT hang dead straight down.

And quit saying O/S, nobody has a clue what that means.
