I'm not sure if this has been posted before and I have done a search with no results. Anyways, everytime I change my oil it seems unusually hot. I mean, I let it sit for a damn hour, then change it, and still burn my arm. My friends say things when I pop the hood and an extreme amount of heat is under there. Is this normal? Thanks for any info.

Well... most engines seem to run much hotter in newer engines. Before changing my oil however, I always pop the hood for at least 30-45 minutes beforehand. I mean, the insulation on the inside of the hood does keep most of the heat in the engine compartment.
