I recently picked up and tried to install a lower cross-hatched edm grill to match my "collections" upper grill... seemed straight forward enough, right?!


It had slipped my mind until the failed installation attempt, that our usdm models utilize the lower grill structure to hold the damn foglights in place! Has anyone installed the lower piece and retained the foggies? I hate to sell it after just picking it up, but I don't see how it's gonna attach and stay secure along with the fogs... and I ordered the one for cars with fog lights!

So how the hell am I supposed to mount this thing?! Anyone?

Couldn't you cut the mount off the old grill and then plastic weld it or glue it or somehow mount it to the new grill or to the bumper?

You don't even need to plastic weld it. I cut off the tabs on the old grill and zip tied it IIRC.

For people who do not browse the other site:

Cut along the redline and trim out the slats, then put 2-3 screw in where the blue is

Make sure the EDM grille is facing the right way, there is a top/bottom to it.

I actually saw that after I posted this lol. But I didn't feel like coming back and editing or anything so I just left it be. But yea that's what I was thinking just cut the mounts off the old grill and somehow attach them to the new one.

Thats basically what I did to get my SVT lower grill into my non-SVT bumper
