I've heard a lot of noise about the Euro-spec bumpers, etc. Searching around, I can't tell the difference...which begs the question, what is the difference, really?

every single light in euro spec bumpers are different than USspec.

turn signals, fog lights, grilles, they dont have crash foam like we do (front or back) the turn signals are different on the hatches so the reverse light is integrated into the rear bumper bottom lights.

there are a few differences, In Europe the Focus get's more higher grade plastics, and more things in the interior, not to mention different engine choices 5 gas, and 2 diesel powered. I did the interior mod's to my Focus a while ago, as well as the 2002 facelift to the front & rear. plus the keys are different.

I wish I had your HVACs so I could grind the back out and put LEDs in them...hehe.

But yeah, Euro is all around better then US. In general.

Frost_2001 I'm slowly but surely working my interior up to precisely what yours is  I've totally become an EDM elitist when it comes to car modifications, but I really don't mind

The HVAC dials glow green, right?
Green / Blue / Red - like that on the stock dials, with the addition of Orange,

the dials have the same twist in bulbs in the back of them like the American ones, it's why it's a direct plug in, the window defog & redirect buttons are the same just with Blue LED when lit, blue and red when the buttons are pushed on, and in the A/C's case it lights up White with the blue when you push the button down. I got it custom ordered that way.

And the stock Euro HVAC looks amazing and makes such a nice subtle change to an interior, let me tell you

There are way more differences in the E-spec parts than listed. WAY MORE.

I was actually referring to the actual turn knobs. The american ones glow green. For some reason, I mis understood and thought someone said that the euro ones glow white. I'm just acting silly.

You can litterally blame Canada's laws for the North American "US-Spec" 5-mph AKA Gay as **** bumpers.

technically... yes

but hey, that terrible idea to throw the turn signals in the grille were alllll American.
Technically.... yes

but hey the Americans had to put forward facing turnsignals somewhere once the Canadians mandated they not be on the corner like in europe:lol:

Hmm, okay, informative stuff! I'm starting to see. But on the front, the headlight setup that includes the blinkers - those all have HID lights don't they?

No. Not all headlights with the incorporated blinkers(euro headlights) are HID. But most you can buy a HID I hear and install it.

The Machs, which are actually an american headlight, do have the HIDs built in to them.

Oh, ok, good to see standard ones are available for this. No HID's for me, I'd never subject oncoming drivers to that torture.

The Focus Ghia in the UK had the option of a heated front windscreen ;)
