Ever noticed that other drivers think Focus can\'t accellerate

For example, there is a 3-lane road, and I am in a right lane which soon after the traffic lights turns into a freeway entrance. So I am waiting for a green light, no cars behind me, and some other car stops at the lights next to me. I know that 3 times out of 4 he also wants to get on the freeway. On green light I accellerate as normal (for me , which is usually fast

). The car next to me first notices that his "plan" to get on the freeway in front of me is in trouble. A nice person will get behind me. A guy in a fast car will step on accellerator and get in front of me. But a very frequent moron will try to squeze on the freeway entrance lane by cutting me off.

From my obseration most of these "morons" drive so called luxury brands, e.g. Mercedes or Lexus.

I like when they pull into the passing lane when I am merging to allow me in and then pull in behind me because I match their speed faster than they expected.

I find accelleration is attributed more to the driver than the car.

My aunt has an Echo. An auto. It is not in any way, shape, or form faster then my Zetec Focus.

And they just all happened to be driven by really really really hot women

Echos are in the mid 15's with I/H/E
However, I'm not too keen on the ride or the handling with the narrow tires (175/65/14). They are quicker than you might think.

The Focus is pretty slow to accelerate in stock form but it doesn't feel that way when I drive it in autocross.

i think an echo with a manual tranny might be faster than a ZX3 with a manual tranny. i am pretty sure that the power to weight ratio is either the same or slightly better in favor of the echo. sorry a stock focus can't accelerate.

as for a WRX underestimating how much a focus can accelerate HAHA you have to be joking. what they thought you would be 4 carlengths back but you are only 3.5 carlengths back? sorry in a straight line, WRX v. stock focus.. even stock SVT focus.. WRX will own

Neither the Focus nor the Echo were intended to drag race other, better, more power, nicer vehicles.
