i was on the focus central web page and was looking at the cats and they said that you can place the their cat where the stock flex-pipe was when using a race header. so my i was wondering if anyone has done this

I know some people have done that. There is an important consideration when doing that- find out if it is legal in your state to move the cat. Otherwise you might have to reinstall stock items to pass emissions. If it will be a problem in your state then just put the race header on and swap it out for stock when you have to get the car tested.

It shouldn't matter where the cat is when u get it tested. If you don't have any leaks u are straight. I just found that for myself just the other day.

i was told it is a federal law to not move , replace or get rid of your stock cat unless it goes bad in the first 50,000 miles and then i believe it is still covered in our warrenty.

i could be wrong but i heard this from a knowlegdeable(did i spell that right) source.
