Farewell to my Focus, Hello to my new car *update Mar25*
hookay, so the Focus is gone, sold, finito, I am done with it and moving onto the next project so to speak.
it was a 2001 Ford Focus with power locks, remote keyless, manual sunroof, and thats it for options, and thats the way I liked it, thats the way I wanted it.
I found it at a GM dealer with 71,000km's on it
it had none of the recalls done, and was bone stock. so I had all the recalls done when they appeared but this car had a water leak, apparently something that was common on that year. cost the dealer $500 for the fix and the inherient time of the Ford techs stipping the entire interior removing the carpet to dry. took a week.
here are a couple stock photos of it:
Steering Wheel
3/4 shot of the completely stock car
a while flew by and I did some tiny mods to it. if anyone ever visited my site you would have had always instant access to everything I did, there was a lot of exterior mods (mazda3 rear wiper, glossy triangles, SVT headlights, tint, drop) I bought the typical starter mods (intake/exhaust/header/wires). If you visited my site you would also know I took like a bazillion shots of every mod I did, well about 98% of those are gone.
here's a quick 6 month update shot:
.
Next I did something gawd awful and bought a really crappy bodykit and had it painted and put it on my car. I REALLY regret doing that because it cost so much damn money. Sure I sold everyhing, but I didn't get back as much as I had hoped for.
NO PICTURES OF THAT, it's definately a repressed memory of mine.
after I took all that crap off, I went back to the stock body panels. did zero modifications to them, and kept that money. bought a whole host of other parts though (In.Pro St170s, Euro Grille)
Then I got my candy ass on track. and Bought this:
Here are some photos of the install:
That took me a couple of weekends to do and a lot of emotional pain afterwards. cost me too much in my personal life, so after under a month of ownership and under 500 miles of driving the damn thing, I sold it to blueovaldave, along with a set of ZX3Tuning race camshafts (and apparently hes loving it right now :evilgrin
this is my Dyno sheet:
I ran a peak of 187.5fwhp corrected and a flat 163.7fwtq corrected on a DynoDynamics Dyno.
here is the dyno movie

^^^^^^^
if you listen really closely you can hear the blower going, it was hard to hear, the place didnt have exhaust exit ports, it was crowded in there, and the echos were harsh, but you get the picture.
here is how the car finally sat, with all its exterior and interior mods before I sold it:
added right before the sale were a sick set of EAP SVT rims. bought for cheap through Steve @ Tousley Ford.
----
The car is gone. Sold to a younger than me guy. the car rolled over 100,000kms right before I sold it and was very happy with that. I had a lot of fun with this car, a lot of pain, and a lot of heartache. I didn't mind the fun, the pain, but as soon as it hit home like a ton of bricks I had to get this car sold. That plus I've been hit 4 times in under 2 years of ownership with that whip. Probably because it was a fully blacked out Focus on Black rims haha.
I'm missing it already. The car I bought doesn't compare in craftsmanship or interior fit and finish. But I wanted to buy a car that I could just buy and drive. Not have to worry about it constantly, and more importantly not spend any top dollars on it. And I think I may have it.
