Fiberglass bumper mount/paint info

Hello fellow FJers.

I recently picked up a fiberglass copy of the R/S edition front bumper. I've heard that fiberglass bumpers need to be fitted prior to painting, and in some cases, left on for a few days to "shape" to the car ... I'm not much of a bodykit person though and don't know much about this sort of thing. Anyone out there, please give some pointers (and please don't tell me I have to have a white front bumper on my yellow car for more than 5 minutes...)

Thanks in advance ...

it is sometiems good to leave it on the car unpainted for a couple days so that it shapes itself to the shape of the car... otherwise the paint might crack if you go to bolt on an un-fitted bumper....

Not to sound like I'm smart or anything (cuz thats not true) but as soon as I take if off after "shaping" for a few days, wouldnt it just go back to how it was?
yes, but it will be able to flex into the shape to mount it up easier, so after you paint it, the paint will not crack
