Looks to be what I expected for the sedan. Would have loved to see a pic of the hatchback or a shot of the new nose.

The checking fixtures look awesome! I loved designing that stuff when I worked for a company that supplied gages and fixtures to GM and Chrysler.

yeah it is for some folks that want the Fiesta ripped directly from Europe with no changes.

As I posted on Fiesta Faction, I think the bars above and below the Ford oval will be chrome. That shape is very close to the new Fusion upper grille, and the side thingies match the Verve Sedan concept. White and Silver bodies will hide those elements, and a dark color will make them stand out. Depending on what you want it to look like, you can emphasize or tone-down those features. I still like the EU bumper the best since it cleaner with less stuff going on, but I don't see any reason to think this design won't look good. So far, nothing seen from these pictures would deter me from buying one. I would prefer the EU bumper for its larger lower opening, very small upper opening, very little chrome, and round fog lamps. Considering what the Feds make Ford do to the car, I think it came out well. The upper grille could either go towards the verve sedan look or the fusion look. We are still a long ways away from production!

I would guess that for the non-fog lamp models it would just be closed off. For the other models, it will have a round fog light. The Fusion is that way. At least I am hoping they offer fog lamps, it would be strange if they did not. Sometimes I think the headlight shape is different, and other times I think it is just the angle of the picture.

Anyone with photoshop, can you attempt to chrome the bars above, below, and coming from the sides of the Ford oval? I think you will see it is very Fusion like.

This is way better than what I had feared.

Another thought is that they will have some sort of a LED-style light in that chrome bezel, just like the new Taurus has. Kind of cool, but serves no function for driving.

my computer won't let me see Matt's photoshop. :(

Omni, that is a good idea about the chrome being present on some models and not others. Perhaps it will just be black, but it seems to fit the US look if it was chrome. Hopefully it will be a removable peice, like the Focus was, so you would have the option to change it. The grille on my dad's Fusion would almost be impossible to swap out.

I believe that the spy-pic has been anomorphically scaled to shorten it
horizontally.
The wheel arch is deformed, indicating that...

actually, I'm sure of it... all the photos in that collection have been anomorphically scaled.

I love the headlight going from the nose to the A-pillar! Once of my favorite design elements of the car.

Bigdaddy, I think you are right with the picture.

Compared to what I thought was going to happen, I am very relieved! Still have a long way to go before production ready, but this is good. Still things going on with the interior which I will be watching for as introduction time comes near. I absolutly love my EU Fiesta, and I am happy to think I will be getting a US one next year. I was so afraid that the US car would be too chromified.

stampings are expensive, so I am sure they worked very hard to make sure they did not have to make any sheet metal changes.

Each time I look at the pic, I get more and more excited. I am pretty sure I am looking at my next car. :) Giddy is an understatement.

With the changes of the picture its safe to say that there is no size change from the Euro to the North American spec headlights which means for those of us like me who want Euro Headlights can get them and swap them out. Its on my list of changes I'm going to make to the car to get it slightly closer to EU spec looks which is a very small list. Ford has done a good job in keeping the Kinetic Design system going and not Chroming out the grill with a Mach 3 Razor. The fog lamp surrounds I'm assuming will be in a similar situation certain models will be chrome others not since I don't want the uber super expensive model that has 3 grand worth of junk I won't use I shouldn't have to worry about getting one with excess chrome.

As I put in the Fiestafaction forums, I think we won't see a chrome grill period my bet is that it will be painted body color in keeping with the theme of the Fiesta and keeping similarities to the EU Fiesta. I'm also believing from driving today and looking at various NA spec cars that the tail lights of the sedan might be laid out like the Mazda 3. The rear fender panel houses the tail light and the turn signal with the trunk housing the back up lights.

I've always liked the EU models since they've came out, but with the changes to accommodate the different front plate and incorporating a little mix of the current US styling, the North American version is turning out a lot better than I expected. It'll be great to see what the final production model looks like. Now if only they bring over an ST variant with the 1.6L turbo and I'll be sold. :)
