what bov does the standard fmax kit come with or does it even have one? Also, what size wastegate does it come with and what does that mean, for example, if its 35mm, what does this mean exactly?

naz...i know how much u love the sound of a bov. so i would say pick up a turboxs type H-RFL...this puppy is loud as hell...also if your gonna run 10+psi and wanna spend a little more go with the normal type-H

yeah, i think it comes with an HKS unit, and those arent too loud, i do like how the XS sounds, just have to wait and see, HKS makes some pretty loud ones too, but i think the one it comes with is fairly quiet. And yes, i like sleepers and all that and clean street rides, but 1 thing i dont care about, i love bov's, i love the sound, the wooosh...and yes, i do want people do hear me....

I think the wastegate is a 35mm....i still wanna know exactly what the size means and how much boost is it limited to....

I think the fmax site says HKS, i just wanna make sure it still is the same, since they never update their stuff, that is the same page that says it comes wiht 5/6th injectors, which are now history

Ok so it doesn't kill the primary purpose of having a BOV

"Uh ..... i thought a BOV was just for making that special noise .. just like an exhaust"

My stock plastic Bosche bypass valve made a blow-off sounding noise when it vented back into the intake but I don't know how noticible it was outside the car. I know when I ran at the track my dad said he couldn't hear it from the stands.

You could only hear it inside the car if you had the radio off. It didn't sound too shabby but I prefer my current BOV.

HKS Super Sequential all the way baby!.

Costs more than most of the other BOVs out there but it's worth it.

Simple Google search, found that other FMAX kits use the HKS RAcing Bypass Valve, and another quick search found this:

man jay, youre just a quick searcher huh..whered you learn that....

So im guessing if fmax uses the HKS bypass then thats the one on the focus, what u found, was it the focus specific or just general fmax, and how old, cause ive seen the fmax site and it does say hks but that was over 2 years ago,and things change, like they no longer use 5/6th injector or msd ignition, so who knows....and you cant contact them, because they have been moving across the street for the past 3 years

looking at the price and boost range, that doesnt look right, $250 part on a kit for $2800? Sounds too good, plus it says 12-14psi, fmax runs at 7psi...guess i just gotta find out from a recent fmax owner then..>TOM??

nevermind, looks like HKS does make bypass valves, and they do make Racing bypass valves, they finally updated their website, this looks like the ones
http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=761
probably blue

so maybe what it says on the fmax site is true, if it is, thats really cool, cause they use good stuff then, i would have figured they just use a cheap plastic purge valve or something, thats good to know, a $2800 full turbo kit actually uses a name brand bypass valve. thats cool

that picture describes a bypass valve very clearly, look at all that hose

OMG, HE ACTUALLY FOUND AN ANSWER FOR HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how come Fmax is ~3500$ for other cars, but only 2800$ for the Focus?

I think you should stop asking, and start doing!

WE want to see you come on the board with results, with questions on why something that you have is not working, or on how well it IS working.

All these posts, geez, get with it man, look at the folks posting stuff that ACTUALLY HAVE TURBO'S, I like helping them, I can actually help them as they can grasp and use the information.

But when you keep asking the SAME QUESTIONS all the time, and are answered 5 times in one post and you never realize it, it just gets annoying.

You say that it is just a message board and not real life, that is true, but people want to come on here to get good information. But this way, they have to sift through useless posts with misinformation that is provided by certain people.

READ man, READ!! Stop asking, READ the posts.

I still don't get it, I learnt all I needed to know from READING! I didn't ask any newbie questions like you do everyday, yet I still got some great info!

anyways, the fmax IS $3500, but without the fuel management, george at 1320, the only ones that carry fmax for the focus as of now, says its around $2800 for the bare kit with no fuel management, hopefully he was right, cause thats a fairly good deal i think for the parts you get.

Now jay, instead of replying all this time, shouldnt you be out redesigning your manifold..or better yet, actually making one

jk

BTW...i totally repect ur **** man, you come on, make a totally wild yet simple turbo kit, got great numbers and even better track times...i salute u my friend....

oh and jay...alot of hte useless posts i make, are very helpfull to alot of the people here, so unfortunately, youre wrong. Sure, i do post way too much useless **** asking tons of questions...
but hey, now if someone wants to know the difference from a bov and bypass valve and which one is used on the fmax...they can find tons of **** on it right here, instead of going on the web somewhere...i tell u what man, if i did that, NONE of the **** on focaljet would be useful to me..EVERYTHING that has ever been mentioned here can be found elsewhere..so whats the point of this place? To have a place to talk about it, discuss it, argue over it and fix it. THis is not a database, its a discussion board, i can discuss whatever comes to mind, that is how i look at focaljet, something comes to mind, i post, **** thinking about it and checking if the info is already here....i really dont care cause its just a place for me to bable on about crap i like to talk about...thats it, nothing special

Well, a Logical Person, Or someone that REALLY wants to LEARN the information, not just want an answer, would want to find the information out FOR THEMSELVES, so that they actually LEARN something, and not have to ASK THE SAME THING all the time!

Ok, I am done! For real! If not, I will turn into NAZTHUG!!!
