The timestamps are for whatever time zone you set yourself for...... just so you know.
Oops, I didn't know I could change the time zone on the User CP options. Thanks for the tip! I always thought the Focaljet server was on at a secret location in the middle of Utah, and that's why the time stamps were off.

This better get me some points. I'm just a little pissed off about last week. Cars didn't hit the track until probably a good 10 minutes after I posted my picks. How would I have had info others would not have? I don't get it. Other people even said the same thing. But, I guess I just have to fall in line and roll with it.

may be a stupid question but someone please give me an exact definition of a secondary driver for the challenge. Are we considering a highest secondary driver to be "any" second teammate that finishes ahead of any other second teammate? Or have we pre-assigned drivers already to be secondary drivers based on their past performance?

For reference:

1. Kimi Raikkonen - Ferrari
2. Felipe Massa - Ferrari
In the above example, Kimi Raikkonen is Ferrari's primary driver, and Phil Massa is the secondary, given that Kimi gets the higher number, and the red camera pod. The driver with the lower number, and black camera pod, is the secondary driver.

The secondary driver on a team generally doesn't get the preferential treatment the primary gets regarding race strategy and is often on the longshot/backup strategy.

For the challenge, it's just which team's secondary driver finishes best. If Phil Massa finishes ahead of all secondary drivers from all other teams, people that chose him get the points.

Here's my picks:

1. First Place: Louise Hamilton (22)
2. Second Place: Kimberly Raikkonen (1)
3. Third Place: Nikki Heidfeld (3)
4. Fast Lap During the race: Kimberly Raikkonen (1)
5. Qualifying Pole Position: Louise Hamilton (22)
6. Highest scoring secondary driver: Hecky-dern Kovalainen (23)
7. Highest lapped position: 8th

Secondary drivers are considered to be those with the yellow pod on the top. On every team, a number is assigned for each of the drivers based on the team's constructor standing for the previous year. Last year, since Ferrari won the Championship, their driver's were assigned No. 1 (Kimi) and No. 2 (Massa). So therefore, Massa is Ferrari's secondary driver and an eligible pick for this category.

McLaren, since they were disqualified in 2007, dropped to the bottom of the Constructor's standing. This means that their drivers are assigned the bottom two numbers of the grid (22 & 23). McLaren gave No. 22 to Hamilton and No. 23 to Kovalanien. The lowest number of the two is usually given to the better and more senior driver, but this is not always the case.

Because of McLaren's DQ, BMW finished second in 2007. So this year they were given No. 3 and 4. BMW has given the lower number to Heidfeld (No. 3), so this makes Kubica the secondary driver and No. 4.

By the way, the regulations as far as driver numbering are actually FIA rules, we didn't make them up. I introduced the category to spice things up back in the Schumacher - Alonso years. Take a look at sleeprfocus' list of drivers at the beggining of this thread, the bottom driver for each team is the secondary driver. I see you have Raikkonen as your pick in this category, you have until 1:59am EST to change it!

Lots of interesting pics, lots of people thinking Ferarri will be making a comeback this race! I'm usually a Ferrari fan, but for some reason I have a feeling their current reliability problems are gonna bite them during the race....

My guess is that Kimi will either win or have a failure that will take him out of the race. By my pics you can see i'm leaning more towards the failure, I guess we'll see.

There is no preferential treatment at Ferrari if you ask them.. :p:lol:

LocoFoci and gobstopper, thanks for the clarification in the challenge. I knew about the FIA numbering system and the teams assigment of secondary drivers but just wasn't clear as to how the challenge was considering the highest secondary driver. Some trivia: anyone know the year a driver was last assined #13?
