FC race header is what I have and its loud with my magnaflow, but a good addition. Either FS or FC race header will do you right.

hows the quality of the fc race header? are the welds strong? ive heard of some that break and leak. also what all would i need to do a race header, i know i need a flexpipe, o2 cheater, and special tools or anything. do i need to use the original gasket or does a new one come with it?

The headers were crackin for the most part b/c people weren't using the braket on the engine to supprt them. I don't know of any cases where they cracked for another reason but its possible.

easy as hell to install... took me less than an hour.. i used the braket in the rear... i have no complaints as of yet (after only 2 months though) with the performance of it... i used the stock gasket too.. and the stock flex... for a little while but now i got the bosal.... all in all its been a great mod....well except for the fact that the ceramic coating started to burn off in between the center section .... but its minimal ... and FC said that they would replace it for free... anyways good luck.. have fun with it

I got the FC race header , and have had it for like 6 or 7 months...not a single complaint other than the fact that I have to find a cat to weld in!lol.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I think that was 95% of the problem. With out that lower support bracket, the only thing that's left to support the header are the welds.

I have had the latest FC race header (the one before the design change) on for 2 months. No problems so far, and I'm in the snow belt of New England.

Tools:

O2 sensor socket or wrench
1" & 1 1/16" open wrenchs for EGR (I didn't have a metric larger then 25mm)
basic metric sockets (good to have both 1/4" & 3/8" drives with ext's)
E7 reverse tork (13mm socket will work in place of this.)

Extra parts:
Header accessories kit from myfordperformance.com will give you everything that you'll need.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Not completely necessary, but not a bad idea either...

BTW, I have 2 of the, I guess you would call them Gen 1 race headers left and I posted a message to the Sponsor Deals about how I have to get rid of them very soon to make room for the newest race header. It's a fire sale price of $299 with FREE S&H. Don't order from the website though, cause you won't find that price on there, you have to call me during my store hours 11:00am - 5:00pm ET. Call me tomorrow and I will include the header gasket and accessory kit as a BONUS

I met these guys that are making a new race header. They claim that it is the same quality as DC sports (Honda specialists). But for the focus. I'm going to wait for its release because I've seen the prototype.

it mounts at the pipe/flexpipe joint. it botls up to a bracket that's attached to the frame, I believe.
