Ah, the infamous "My car is better that yours because yours sucks" crowd. They've always been around, always will be around. Its sad that people act like that, but I've seen it all over on nearly every message board I've ever been to. I have tried to reason with people when they start talking crap, only to realize a more intelligent and productive conversation could be had with a brick wall and a pile of cow dung.

 

And then they get their panties all twisted up worse when the "cheap little car" bitch slaps them on the track.

That's why I sold my zx3, and made sure I brought a rex with me. I wasn't going to bring a focus that was built in MX.

 

armanda who the hell cares, really. I find more people who LOVE cars and are true enthusiasts, generally accept the focus and people who put a euro spin on it and/or tune.

only problems i have ever had from people are those with high-powered to low powered cars, that are either looked at as "a dime a dozen" or 'ugly'. Like most of the SRT-4 crowd, civics, etc.

why? well for the ugly, duh...u can be highpowered but that is what you bank on to cover the insecurities u have of your car, and the people that really do like the looks of the SRT4s seem to not have a problem with the focus crowd, like many on FJ with them.

Civics and alike, well duh they are pissed....we get more hp/torque from factory in base form, better interior quality, sportier looks and MUCH better handeling....and well Focuses are just not tuned everywhere unlike the civic, so jealously is in order for all those factors.

im not turning up my chin to any of them, because i pride myself in loving everything for what it is, i love the SRT4 for its robust power evne if im not too fond of the looks, thats coo. I love the civic and always have, the new Si's are amazing and would love one for a daily. My focus, i love the looks and love the potential she has to be powerful but i kno she is slow and STILL automatic, but hey why get selfconcience:screwy: those who do have serious personal issues that is all.

Exactly! Consider the source. In an intelligent conversation about the relative merits of various cars the Focus will come out well. People can say the accessory components are cheap, they are, but not the engineering. The compromise-point Ford hit with the Focus between comfort, performance, and price is very hard to equal.

 

only reason we have a focus is because it was handed down to us or thats all we could afford :dunno:

 

Focus Hate is nothing new. eh..I get it all the time.

The trick is to not take it personally. The fact is....those people who bash on the Focus just have no clue what a great little car it really is.

All they know is what some other Focus Hater asshat has told them in the past.


I even had one of those guys say that he's driven a Focus at Enterprise and thats what he's basing his opinion on......

I had a new Focus for a rental about two weeks ago. 21,000 miles and not a creak. The car had Florida plates on it and I was driving it here in Saint Louis.

I have a new Altima now, 8,000 miles on it and the ONLY powerport in the car doesn't work and the center console is loose, as in it shimmies over small bumps, creaking and cracking...

People have no clue.....Ford's been building better cars for a while now....

 

I had a couple that came in and rented a truck and car trailer to go south, they got hooked on the Focus from driving a rental one and in fact they loved it so much they bought it off the rental company.

 

That's how I got into the Focus.... it started with a rental car and 200 miles of canyon runs.

 

It doesn't matter what you drive, there will always be someone that will bash it.

I've loved this little car for 8 years and will never sell it.

Yeah, just like my bike. It's price is half that of more expensive bikes, yet handles better than any other cruiser on the market...yet Harley Cheerleaders always bash it.

Well, when HD makes a bike that will out handle and out run my bike and makes it less than $15,000, I'll buy it.

That said, I was hanging out at a few buddies that drive a VW and one of them commented that they've never seen a fast Focus and started their little nut swinging bash fest so I let them have their fun.....

Later, I posted the videos of the Great Pumpkin.

Now all they talk about is, "It's still a Focus....blah blah..."

Some people won't change no matter how man staples you put in their temple so you've just gotta accept that. :lol:

Haha just today I had someone say Sweet Car as I was pulling out of my parking spot. He actually did a double or triple take on it being a focus!

Well i mean I get girls saying "awe its cute", and some guys saying "its nice". But all of them with the Euro cars out of nowhere start bashing on it. Its not just on social-networking, but even if its just parked in front of my house, ill get a text "still got the focus, huh?" 'Uh yes dumbf***, and i dont plan on changing it" :rant:

 

I've owned my Focus for five years now and its the longest I've owned a car. I'd only trade it for a Focus RS. Its the only car that just fits me, it's got what I want and what I need in a car. It's not too fast not too slow and I've only seen five other ST's in real life aside the pics of owners here on their forums. Its not a Focus you see every day aside your own.

 

Go to a VW forum and tell them the Focus ST is better than a GTI... :lol:

 

No offense to VW owners but most I do know have a bad ego about owning VW's.

I work on and drive european cars all day everyday. At the end of the day, I get in my focus and drive home. You know what? I still like my focus. I miss the refinement of the German cars and I of course love the power, but for a much smaller price, I get a car that performs better and looks better than everything in its pricepoint and a bit higher, and I still enjoy it after 9 years. Some people just dont get it.

If they made an ad dumping on a Kia, would anybody chime in to say **** the kia Sephia? no of course not. Its just understood that the Sephia is a terrible cheap piece of ****. The focus however is actually viewed as legitimate competition so it gets the. There is your positive spin right there.

 

My girlfriend and her mom drive Kia Spectra's they're a very nice car.
