That's an interesting setup. Someone is running an off road pipe (deletes the cat) and then put a cat further in downstream. I have no idea why they didn't just weld it into the ORP or just keep the OEM cat.

Is the OBX a 4-2-1 header or is it an SVT knockoff header? If it's a 4-2-1, it won't work unless you have a Zetec (not SVT) flexpipe. It's easy to tell what style it is because the 4-2-1 uses pretty straight primaries and the flange sits after the oil pan.

 

I’m not sure on the header. I know it is OBX. You can see the primaries in the picture, not sure if that is considered straight or not.

 

Thanks hEaT! I think that I will play around with a combination of stock SVT exhaust and the aftermarket and try to find a sound that I like. If not, I will look to buy something else.

 

When I had my '03 SVT, I had both the MAGNAFLOW and later the BORLA catback exhaust and I thought that the BORLA sounded better.

 

Hard to find Borla now, but Trubendz does make a kit with Borla mufflers.

That cat being that far down is not going to work well, it won't get hot enough unless you tap air to it. If emissions are an issue.

And, WHAT timing chain........engine uses a belt there.

 

I bought the car from a person in Portland Oregon. I believe emissions testing is law there and that is the reason the CAT is there in the first place. I am contemplating the removal on the aftermarket cat and attaching the OEM cat to this catback setup.
