I'm sorry...I know this is a Focus website but I just can't get over how ugly that car looks. The hatch just doesn't work for me. And the wing? I know its functional but damn does it look silly. Looks like it would be more suited on a Prelude with an unpainted body kit and a fart pipe. Gonna take some time to grow on me.

i like it, a lot. i am getting over the rear end, i think it looks pretty nice. MUCH better in 5-door IMHO.

what i don't get is why that big old wing is ok for rallye but not for touring car? they just put a little dinky one on the touring car lol

i realize they're different forms of motorsport but do you need that different a wing?

Remember the rules for each are significantly different. They are allowed to get pretty radical in wrc with their aerodynamics. In most touring car series there are very strict rules on aerodynamics, especially wings, splitters, and airdams.

I love seeing new racecars, even if they're 'concepts'.

On top of that, I'm a huge Touring Car fan.

Yeah, that Mk.2 styling will take time to get used to, but it really isn't that bad.

About the styling of the MK2......if you remember the MK1 took time for people to start liking it.

I got mine in 99 and I was the first in my city to have one.(Knoxville) I was still in high school and everyone made fun of it. I didnt care though. I loved it and didnt really care what people thought.

I think that the MK2 will be just as successful as the current focus here in the states in due time.

You also have to remember that the WRC wing would cause waaay too much drag and more then needed downforce on the touring car. The WRC wing is made to work at much lower speeds than the touring car wing.

Effective speed on the WRC car wing is about 60-90mph.

Effective speed on the Touring car wing is about 90-120mph.

NOw that the above is cleared up.

If i were to ever get another focus and it be an MKII i would so shoot to make it look like that touring car! Wish it was easier to get those fender flares! Definitely would love to have those rims and that CAMBER!

Everything except the wing would stay, would just get a slightly larger tail spoiler similar to the current RS's.

The wing looks a little goofy but overall I really like the look. The flared fenders look tough. Too bad we are not going to get the new focus anytime soon.

The more I see this car, the more it grows on me. Though I admit I'm a sucker for hatches.

But if I could get this car and then do this... I would, silly wing and all.
