does anybody know what these cars run stock in the 1/4 mile?
i just watched a probe turbo put down 175 whp and 243 wlbft (sae corrected on a dynojet)and the kid said he was hoping to run low 15's. i dont know how heavy these cars are but i think he should be in the mid 14's with those numbers and our altitude ~3000 ft i think.
his mods (as far as i could tell) were waste gate set at 12 psi, HKS (i think) bov, and intake

Probe never had the Duratec 2.5. It was a Mazda 2.5 (as it was based on the MX6) that was in there. Probe was replaced by Cougar in 99 which had the Duratec 2.5.
Same drivetrains in the Mazda MX6s. My roomie has an 89 MX6 GT. It's a 2.2L SOHC 12V turbo. Stock, they push about 140HP at the wheels and almost 195 ft-lb torque. He's got his boosted to about 12psi, and damn it's fast! (Love the sound from his HKS blow-off, too.) Actually, these engines are VERY reliable. Look around. There's a lot of them still running around and they're definetely sleepers.
I can testify to the 89 Mazda MX6 turbo, I had one.... damn fast car, killed my fair share of tuned hondas in my home town, but mine had the 4WS option(4 WHEELS STEERING). WOWZERS!! that thing was fun on corners. Wish i coulda raced scca with it....might be interesting with the 4ws.
