It does look exactly like a VW VR6. The cam cover looks plasticky though so I reckon this is someone whos dropped a VR6 into his/her ford and then had a cam cover made up. Any pictures of the rest of the car?

It's a definately VW, look at the battery and coolant bottle. I don't think it's a ford logo though, it just looks like one.

The European Ford Galaxy minivan is a VW design and has a 2.8 VR6 in it. I can't find a picture of the engine in the van but here is a spec sheet referencing the 2.8 CD-V6:

Yep, just read the cam cover before I posted.

That is definately a VR6, no clue why there is FoMoCo logo on it.

Yeah i believe the Ford Galaxy and the VW Sharan share the same components. Hmm but the idea of a VR6 in a Focus makes me excited.

Wonder what kind of changes will need to be made to fit that bad boy in there?

yes sireee that is a Vr6, the cover, wires and intake mani look exactly the same, and it even says "Neuspeed" in red by the air filter if you look closely

Yup, the cover would have come from a Ford Galaxy V6, which is a twin of the VW Sharan.

If you want a V6 in your Focus go with the next best thing. The SVT Contour or Cougar V6 are almost staight bolt in's with almost the same amount of power and you can get a super charger for both.

Isnt it a detuned version of the VR6 that is fitted to the galaxy though? Cant see the advantage if that the case unless you turbo it. This could be possible in the Focus as the VR6 would take up less space than the V6 Duratec. I know that the Duratec has been t'boed in a focus but not without a lot of work.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">It takes A LOT of money and work to make a turbo for the VR6 too. Like $5-10k.
