The shading is definitely different.

It's modernized, yet familiar. Most important factor for a well established company.

Why does it refer to ford as a company then as an individual? "it's logo" becomes "his anniversary"

I was never a fan of that logo, tho. i like the CF focaljet one better

Please, please, please: Don't tell me how much money Ford has wasted on this meaningless marketting flip flop.

it must be awesome to be a "graphic artist". I bet that cost Ford a nice little bit of change..... and the "artist" about 2 hours.

Bill Ford - "We want a new logo."
Graphic Artist - "well, what do you have in mind?"
BF - "we want a new modern looking logo. something that says "we are new, young, current, and relevent." how about that?"
Flunky no.1 - "but still maintains our classic appeal. so our older customer base knows we havent changed."
BF - "yeah, thats great! we want to be the same..... but different! can you do that?"
GA - " I can do it, but I need about 2 weeks and 10K dollars."
BF - well, if you think you can do it..."

TWO WEEKS LATER

GA - "I finished, what do you think? (presents same stupid logo on big poster board)"
BF - uhhh. THATS PERFECT!!!
FLUNKY - yeah, you're right sir, best logo ever!

Ford should ahve two logos... The classic one for the Ford Motor Company. And a second updated logo (NOT like the one pictured) for the actual Ford cars.
