just purchased a front stress bar for my '08, i noticed in the instructions that is says to torque the nuts to a specific torque setting, my problem is i dont have a torque wrench, is it a big deal if i dont torque them to spec?

Thought it was 18ft/lbs and if you have an AUTOZONE or similar auto parts store out your way, they may let you rent a torque wrench. I just did mine a week ago and had to jack up the side that wouldn't allow the bar to just slide over the posts a bit and then it did and I torqued them down.

Hand tight and a 1/4 turn after that will be pretty close to 18#s. But a torque wrench is a better idea.

so i went to install the bar today, i adjusted the AC lines as instructed, but when i try to align the holes on the bar to the bolts on the strut towers, i cant get both sides to line up, its almost as if the angle and which the bar was made was incorrect. any ideas?

I just ordered the lower front stress bar from FSWerks. Should arrive on Monday. I think I'm going to order some new bolts from Ford even though you can use the old ones. Figure its important to have new ones or they wouldn't have said anything and I'll let you know when I get it installed along with some pics.

I just reused one. Got my lower front stress bar from FSWerks delivered yesterday and pick up brand new bolts for it that I ordered from the dealer after work today. Hipefully I can get it installed this weekend then maybe have time to hit my favorite mountain road. Just like a kid in a candy store!
