The other day I was in Manhattan driving around, the lights the other way turned yellow, and then nothing, 10 seconds later still nothing. SO go thought the frozen light, come to the next block, and the same thing happens. ALL the lights down 10 AVE. for several blocks just started freezing up, it was the weirdest thing. Was anyone else there for that, or did anyone else ever have something like that happen before? I mean I have been at traffic lights that froze before but never several city blocks at a time!

Actually, it wasn't me. One light froze up on me on my way to work 2 weeks ago. Until then, I'd never seen anything like it. It was at an intersection of a minor street and a huge boulevard, and it was frozen on a protected left turn for the minor street. So people on the minor street were blazing through the light (which is normally a VERY brief green and LONG red) so none of the people could get through on the larger road.
I was pissed.
