Ok. Heres the lowdown. 2001 zx3 auto. No mods except drop in k-n, and superchip. I wanna either go full race header, flex pipe, and full 2.25 tubing out. Is there any downsides to this setup (other than not being emisions legal and loud). Or would a shorty header, catbypass, flex, and so on be the better way with this. Also, recomendations on brands of equipment to use would help. I was thinking FC for the header, and flex, probally Yo-dude for the catback.

I think you'll find that you'll get the largest gain from a race header, flex and catback. No shorty will make the same HP that a long tube header will make. However, as you mentioned, the race header will definitely make the most noise. This is guaranteed to draw the attention of all the wrong kinds of people (sorry papasmurfzx3!) if you drive like I'm sure most of us on the board actually do.
