FWIW - it\'s my turn

Took in my 03FSVT(5300 miles)last night for the rattle on idle/no clutch common problem, and to have the new flash done. Flash's done and a new transmission is on order!!!

Will be driving my ZX5/03 free-loaner for a while i guess. It's not too bad for a slushbox and the (blaupaunkt-sp?) audio is kinda kewl, but the only downside is that it is smelly with cig smoke.

On a lighter note - i did get to sit on a euro package fsvt and i think i am in love with those recaros!!!

the cool thing about the BP is that it plays mp3s
thats what really sucks about the audiophile stereo
no mp3s

Yup, i just took mine in for the list of drivability issues (ecu flash) and a shaky steering wheel. i got an old taurus loaner!

btw, are their any cars in particular we get as loaners? we had a hurricane here so the selection was limited.

The loaners they had out that i saw in my dealer where tuarus', Foci(zx3 and zx5) and even 2 dr escorts. This particular dealer has "Free Loaner for Life" as part of their sales pitch so they may have a biger loaner fleet than that of a typical dealer. Ofcourse they have the prominent sticker in the back declaring it's Courtesy Loaner Status.

Emilio - i did notice the MP3 on the faceplate. No fingertip controls on the stalk though.

Re: FWIW - it\'s my turn

Update:
After waiting a couple of weeks for the tranny to come in, and a couple of days for the flywheel(i told my service rep. they will need a new flywheel but they wouldnt listen) i finally got my car all done. For those of you who has had problems with the tranny rattle when the clutch is out, the job entailed dropping the tranny, most of the front suspension, exhaust etc. I wished i had the dough for a LSD while they where "in" there anyways.
They replaced with all new - the ff items: dual mass flywheel, new clutch assy/ disk, new pressure plate and transmission.
What a difference. Clutch is a lot 'softer' to engage and disengage. Ofcourse the rattle is gone. And the shifting easier as well. Hopefully this will be the end of this chapter.
They also did the new flash, and ofcourse washed and vacuumed and cleaned the windows for that 'special' svt
experience.

No, but it comes in just about every rental Focus I have had.

LOL - this is true. In my case, it's every loaner my dealer gave me.

VI - thanks for the kind words. I drive through your neck of the woods at least 2x a year - from VA to Ft Lauderdale to visit family. Unfortunately, it is always using my Expi because i drag the whole family and sometimes the dog to visit. Would love to drive my Focus down to S. FL, even just to get it tinted for cheap.
