What are the differences between the two? They look very similar on the outside. From what I could see it's just the grille and badges that are different on the outside. They both have a 3.5L engine, is it the same? Think Euro conversion of the Focus except Jap conversion of a G35.

Engine specs would be cool on the '05 Skyline.

BTW,
I know that Infiniti and Nissan are the same thing.

I think they are the same. Just a badge difference thats all

Is the new Skyline RWD or AWD?

In that case, whats the real difference between a nissan 350z, Infiniti G35 and the Skyline? They're all basically the same car!!

I would take the G35 Coupe any day over the Z. They're both distinctly styled, and I DO like them both, but something about the G35 2-door makes me rigid.

i've already creamed. i LOVE the G35

i need to see pictures of this new fangles Skyline. i thought the last one was the R34 because of strict smog laws in japan phasing out production of this vehicle

and i also thought that the Z and the G35 were the same car. actually they are the same car.

so i'm guessing that the Skyline is not TT or and Inline 6 anymore huh? well, that's offically crap!

the current top of the line Skyline is the 350GT, as seen here:

http://www.nissan.co.jp/EN/lineup.html

click on "Skyline", as you can see, it's a G35

All I can say is it's a shame to see what they have done to the Skyline.

Why? It was in desperate need of updating, style-wise, and everyone loves the G35, so why is it any worse if we call it a Skyline?

Have you seen any of the G35/Skyline GTR photochops? it's not bad.

Yeah, but I still miss the aggressive look it had. It looks too much like all the other nissans now, it doesn't stand out as the "Bad Boy from the Island" like it use too.

Too bad they didnt use the prototype they unveiled a couple of years ago

The body is different on the 350Z and the G35 and the G35 comes in both 2 and 4 door.

Isnt it obvious...the Jap Skylines are our U.S. Infinity products...both 2 and 4 door

The fairlady Z is our 350z

the 350 is on a slightly differetn platform isn't it?
They are both actually the same "platform" although the G35 is a bit longer to accomadate a rear seat better.
So..... same platform Vs. different unibody

Yeah, the G35 is the Skyline in Japan, most people associate the Skyline with the GTR that they've driven in Gran Turismo but there are regular versions of the Skyline as well, go ahead and google it if you want to know more.

The new Skyline/G35 GTR is rumored to be a 3.2L TT with AWD.

The G35 platform (2&4 door) is 8" longer than the 350Z. Otherwise it's all the same under the skin. We've been looking for a new family car and the G35 Sedan with a 6-speed is really nice! My only gripe is that the Brembo big-brake kit isn't available on the sedan

indeed. i LOVE the G35 but that's because it's a G35. a different car. i think that they screwed it up personally. it doesn't look at you and say "i'll kill you"

also, you know with alot of cars with a long lineage they keep certain things the same. there is always the aura that has to be there otherwise people won't drool over it. then there are specific things to the car itself that needs to stay there. updated or not, doesn't matter.

for instance the mustang. its always had a V8 option, ALWAYS een RWD, always had the same tail lights (lets not talk about the fox body) it's always been two door. it's always been the car of america. the last was the aura

lets take the caddy for instance. they have always been big. it's the ipitimy of american luxury, the tail lights have all been long and up and down. and nice. just plain nice

the Corvette has the circular tails, the same style head lights, it's what every red blooded american loves in power and sexiness from a car. always 2 door and fast as hell

this new Skyline is disapointing at best

cadillac's taillghts used to be round.... and the corvette's headlights have DEFINATELY changed ;-)

ok ok. some stuff isn't exactly the same but for the most part my argument still stands.

and haven't most, newest model excluded, vetts have the flip up lights?

Alright, so basically, he's saying a figure of speech when he's talking about the Caddy's and Vette's. Still, the new Skyline, in my eyes, should be SOME-WHAT similar to the R34...

The new prototype pictures look like a read badged, body-kitted, and lowered 350Z.

The Skyline has always been "special" in the eyes of all U.S. citizens; the new one should still stand with the same image even if it IS available to Americans...

New Skyline =

Nissan SURELY could have done better. C'mon, I'm SURE they made money off the last generation of cars; at least put some of that profit into making a good car to continue the current generation.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it...

The R34 Skyline GT-R was the last and fortunately for Nissan it was. It was a flop.

Hopefully the "new" Skyline will do better.

I love you folks using the word "Jap".
