Gary K has Passed.

For those who knew the Maryland area Focus Racer/Ford Shop Guy, he is with us no more.
He was a Focaljetter EXTRAORDINAIRE!
He went Above and Beyond on a Regular Basis, AND his Race Team Provided an Avenue for many Nor/Mid Eastern FJ'ers to get together as part of his NASA Race Team.
There are others such as EGZ and Hal from Team MA who may have more details, but regardless, he is not with us anymore.
Maybe this should be Pit Stop...
I'm too wrought with Grief to be Specific right now.
I Just Wanna Cry and Have Him Back in the car, the tent, and Hanging with Rupert and the Dogs.

Damn. RIP Gary. I never knew him but it was nice to have a fellow MD resident representing. What on earth happened?

I don't know the Details, but I assume that it was derivative from his Back Surgery. (sp?)

Not that it Matters, But I WISH I knew more.
I was at a Christmas/Semester's End Party this evening and I got the call from Egz.
As I understand it, Hal is Handling/will Handle the FJ Contributed Media.
I HOPE that I'm not accidentaly Volunteering him.
I DO Know that I have 30+ minutes of footage of him, shot from the crotch, (He was Unaware... It was TOTALLY Candid), sitting in his tent at the First VIR FJ G2G, just chatting about life, Music, Cars, etc, and I HOPE to get the Footage to his Funeral/Wake.
I Know NOTHING of "Official" Arrangements, but he is the 'Jetter that I will Miss MOST of those who have Passed from our Plane...
I always wanted to run with him at least one more time...

This is ... very unexpected and i dont know what to say other than i'm in shock and suppressing tears. Gary - man. I'll miss you. I thought next season we'd hang @ lime rock. I... that's how it is. You always plan for the future neglecting the present and miss life's best opportunities.

I never got the chance to meet Gary, but from all the pictures and video that Joe has of him I know he's one of a kind. RIP Gary .

 

Its a complete shock to me. Spent most of the night looking at old pictures and videos. Man, he will be missed.

We had some nice PM exchanges about a year ago--he was also an old AMC (Javelin/AMX) fan like me--he'll be missed by many here for many reasons.

 

To my friend, whose enthusiasm was completely ****ing infectious

And while that enthusiasm could cometimes catch him out,
