I paid almost 3x that much for gas in 06.

 

Spme may be picking theit jaw up off the floor, others are just accepting that the SVTF yearly fuel costs are up there. Hey at least you arent FI!
But with a statement like that...you are probably looking at trading in the SVT

 

I averaged $180/month in fuel this year with a couple months at $250-260 (higher prices and road trips) but also a couple months at $125-150.

$2160 give or take assuming $180 / avg / month.
In worst to best:
My truck - 12-15mpg depending on season and load in the bed
My XR - 22mpg highway, 17 around town
My SVT - 24mpg around town, and 28hwy (rarely sees highway)
My Saturn - 36mpg avg mixed hwy and around town.

Guess what i take to work?

only 28 hwy? i got 35-36 highway cruising over the limit with the a/c on one road trip this past summer.

 

Demonfires SVT is FI.

I think I went through no more than 10 tanks of gas...so that puts me in the ball park of around 400.00 for the year.

You are correct. I in fact DID post something besides mileage, the cost of driving my SVT for one year, which was the point of the thread. That and the fact I was doing my taxes so soon.
