These tires seem to have good stats at a decent price. Anyone have experience w/ these?

We test drove them again last week, decent on the wet autocross tests. Biggest difference you notice versus competing tires that the GS-D3 rides very well for all the peformance that you get.

What does the "XL" in 215/40WR16 XL mean? Also, what's the overall diameter on those? I'd like to hit the 24.1" that the OEM 195/60R15 Goodyears had, but I think these will come up a bit short. I realize the 205/50ZR16's hit it right on. Just looking for a bit more traction for autocross (Street tire class).

Overall diameter is 22.7" XL means Extra Load. This means the tire has a thicker body carcass for more durability in the case of potholes, etc and better rim protection. XL tires can also have the load calculated at a higher inflation pressure, 40PSI.

Many low profile sizes will be XL for more durability and greater carrying capacity.
