Groan noises '04 Focus ZX3 2.3L MTX-75

I have a 2004 Ford Focus ZX3, 2.3L Duratec engine, 5-speed MTX-75 transmission with 118,000 miles. When I enter and make quick turns in parking lots I hear a groaning noise coming from the front of the car. The tires are wearing normally. The car comes up and stops when either the front or rear bumpers are depressed. What is the trouble and about how much should I expect to pay in Northern California for repair? I can change my own brakes and service the oil. Is the repair of a skill level I can do myself?

Is it more a groan or screeching?

With any front end noise, culprits can be anything from worn components, broken components, or maybe low fluid levels feeding components.

How is the power steering fluid level? Any leaks?

Can you inspect the CV boots to see if there are any broken boots? If there are broken boots, there's a chance road crap entered the cracks and caused things like the CV joint fail.
How are the front stabilizer bar endlinks? How are the strut bearings? How are the spring isolators?
