ok, am i stupid or what?

if 2 cars are traveling at 100mph, and they both stop in 320ft wouldnt they stop in the same amount of time?
My brain isnt working right now and I cant tell if im just nuts

Meh, I think the new GTI is cool be just weighs too much. I like the ST but Ford has nuttered the US which makes me made. Either way, it was a good match up.

nope, you're brain is taking a nap.

Several things will influence that stop time, mass of the vehicle, aerodynamic drag, brakes, and tires. The heavier vehicle is harder to slow down, the one with the most drag wants to slow down, the one with the better brakes can apply more friction and load up the tires better, the one with the better tires can handle the heavier brakes without locking up.

Its true, look em up on consumer reports or something.... they're not recommended. We've owned 2 VWs and both were massive POS's that drove really nice when they worked.
Germans can make great driving cars, but in terms of reliability... i dunno

Germans can make an engine but they sure can't do electronics......
VW rabbitt anyone ?? Or how about a 60's to late 70's bug ?? ELECTRICAL NIGHTMARE !! When VW's Run they run VERY nice, And they have great power out of the box, and when they are modded, respond well.

Our family had 1 Audi and 1 VW. Both were complete piles of junk after 60k miles.

It's not that VW's break (all cars do that,) its the nature of the failures that is disturbing. That's why we'll never go back.

VW's can be a great car to own under warranty (assuming you don't mind spending some time in the shop,) but I'd never own another one outside of factory warranty again.

 I guess I can't talk too much, the focus wasn't known for reliability when it first came out.....
But they have fixed all of the bad problems with the focus so at least ford turned it around.

in a matter of 3 years, my dad's passat went through 2 transmissions, at least one broken motor mount, 2 sets of wheel bearings, a door lock problem (he literally couldnt open his door unless he was already inside the car) and various other small problems like his foglights not working at all, or the entire electrical system going haywire (im talking needles going all over the place, dash lights flickering, radio not working, etc)....

I always thought VW's were nice cars. Infact, I kinda still think they are but here's my experience: It was my roommates VR6 '97 Jetta. After hitting 60k miles, his engine light went on. Took it to the dealer, supposed to be some sensor went bad, brought it home. On the way home it went on again. This happened about 2x until the dealer finally said they couldn't shut it off. lol! Now that sucks when you'r own dealer tells you you're SOL.
