FS has a great head package, tested and tuned and ready to go, no headaches, no problems, and 150+whp.

FC is also working and improving their heads everyday, so they should have some great stuff avaiable, they are going all out race NA with their cars, so they are really researching their headwork ALOT, they may soon have the best heads out, cause that all they are doing now, since they wanna have a serious NA race car, you gotta get your head **** straight

But then again, you can only do so much with heads until you are maxed out, i think, NO, i know that NA on the street with safe compression isnt gonna go much higher than 160-165whp MAXXXXXXXXX

Since Focussport already got like 155whp or so, i say thats pretty damn good, their stuff is also ready to go, packaged and proven.

Gude..i dont know, ive seen great numbers, ive seen cars that dont put any numbers at all, ive seen cams so damn big, you gotta be crazy to run them(dev

Plus, FS customer service cant even be compared to Gude....so you be the judge

I can't comment on the gude head, even though i have one. Look at my mods and look at my power does that sounds right. I think i might have hit a little higher too, if i took the glass pack out. Not to mention i made a 1hr and half trip there and put it on the dyno right away when i got there. As for the core charge, i didn't pay one cause for some reason i guess he was feeling nice. I do agree that the customer service sucks. I do love the way my car pulls now. On the wideband O2 , i'm a little rich so i think if i can lean out at little bit and some more tuning i can get around 160 at the wheels. I also heard that i should think about taking out the thermostat, and putting the stock on back in that it might help on the being to rich part.

i have the gude head kit. the product is actually good stuff. but the cams are huge the ones i got with mine are bigger than stage 3 crower. if you like a lumpy idle. dont know about the FS one.

the people i dealt with were complete assholes. they held my core charge money untill i threatened them to get it back. if you can deal with that i say go for it.

i know Russell another jetter on here has this kit as well hes making a little over 150hp. with other bolt ons. so it makes good power.

mine should be around there to.

hope i helped out

Okay Gude head packages really do work but dont buy em from Gude direct. You want to get them from Phordman and Kickerzx2 over at http://www.phordracing.com They will give you equal or better customer service to focus central. Not to mention very good gains. As much as 170hp to the wheels. Plus they give out alot of free serivec advice. I also believe they will give you everything you need to install the head package head bolts gasket and everything.

I personally have the esslinger head package which will be featuring the in the next couple of weeks 4 different cams to choose from. All the way from drag to mild street.

Go with the Gude or FocusCentral head.

The numbers made on the FocusSport head are with all those add on's they list on thier head package page.

That would get a bit expensive.

When is FocusCentral going to release thier head package?

Not that this thread needs any more kindling, but the mere fact that Focus Sports level of customer service so out weighs Gude negates any and all arguements for Gude. Those of you that have had a good numbers with the Gude package, I laud you. I take nothing away from your ride. I'll bet it hauls ass. But the chance would be too great for me.

You cannot go wrong with FC or FS, in my opinion. Treat your customers with respect and you will forever have consumers marketing your business for you.

Gude does have great customer service through its dealers like Phordracing.com

I hope you realize that you are not going to get good power, torque, and drivability WITHOUT some other bolt-ons. If you are being made to believe otherwise, its is simply because the company in question has not listed "other mods". However, if you really want to dig in about other parts needed or not needed for good power, you should note that we are NOT utilizing an aftermarket TB, MAF sensor, and/or intake manifold. Our goal was to make the most reliable power with the least amount of money possible.

Yep Send it in for dyno tuning. Also you might want to polish your intake manifold. Have you done any ignition mods yet. How smooth was your dyno curve. Also I would look at the mafterburner

Randy, i really think you should reconsider trying that TB again, maybe the one you had before just wasnt right, but i will tell you this, a well made throttle body DOES show gains on the dyno and does improve drivablity, i bet your head package with just a TB of some sort, as long as its made well, will hit 160whp +. Im dead serious. As a matter of fact, if you want, i can send you mine and you can just try it and see if it helps...up to you, i just really believe that it would help.
I personally have been through dynos of a few foci with and without TB's, and these cars are mostly stock, and they all seemed to have gained an average of 2-4whp and up to 4-5whp on the to end, and these cars didnt have cams, headwork or anything, which demands even more so air. I think you guys should try it out, a 160whp FS package would be awesome. I really think that a NA reliable focus can hit upwards of 165-170whp with all possible bolt ons

Back on topic, FS has proven gains and tons of work in their packages, just ask ZXMurph, he still cant get enough of his car

I made my decision on going with the Gude head cause theres a guy here in San Antonio that has got some good numbers from his. Im sure you've heard of him, Justin from SCT Motorsports. All he has pretty much is your race headers flexpipe and exhaust. Also a Diablo chip and car is gutted a bit. Fastest run that i remeber was a 14.2. Have not seen numbers on the fs head.

#25 ·
I am going on what I know also. Justin's car is going to be in the 13's easily with just a few more small mods.
Being that it is on a dare I say...GUDE head, that makes me want to get one like he has because I could get similar numbers. The thing is that....it isn't a "stock" GUDE head.
