H20 International - VW & Audi show

Where - Ocean Downs in Ocean City, Maryland
When - September 26-27
More info - http://www.h2ointernational.com/

I realize this is almost exactly 3 months away from today, but I'm starting to get excited and thought I would post it up to see if any of you guys were planing on going. I went last year for the first time and this show is a MUST for any VW/Audi/Euro fan. I'd say there had to been at least 500 cars last year. Here are some of my pics from last years H20 to give you guys a taste of what will be there.

Hell yea man!! I didn't think you would be interested in going for some reason. When you say "carpool" do you mean ride together? My friend with the slammed Mini is really trying to get me to take my car. Not sure if I am or just going to ride with him like I did last year. I'm currently looking for a nice hotel. There are soooo many right off the strip and since it's late September most are VERY affordable. Just not staying at the Seabonay like I did last year....kind of a dump.

I'm almost positive I'll be there. A few more things to line up and I need a place to stay and it'll be thundercats.

WOAH! You are trashing the Seabonay?! Dude... you used to be cool.... ;) That place is trashy as **** but oddly enough clean rooms seaside and cheap.
If you guys are down and assuming your buddy is, why not look at splitting a condo/beach house four ways?
LOL! Wasn't all that cheap last year when I went! I jsut loved the green bathroom....place looked like it was straight out of the 70s. Yea a condo is a good option as long as there is enough of us. I'll try looking into some to see what it would cost to split about 5 ways (Josh, Shawn, me, my buddy with the mini, possibly a buddy with a bagged Rabbit).

91 more days! :D

Mmmm, sexy...
Ok, I was gonna say yet another insane overlap.

Re;Seabonay
Admittedly it's been a while but was cheap when I went. Ohhhh renovations. How trump!
I think the bathroom was pink when I was there and was very 19450s. So by these numbers by 2013 it should be in the right millenium.

Need to see where all my VW buddies are staying.

Let me know ASAP Dave. I really want to get reservations made by the end of July. I mean there are a ton of hotels in Ocean City, but I'd like to have one booked closer to where all the action is (75th and lower on the strip). Gah I can't wait for this show!

Mark's offical to-do list before H2Oi 2009

1. Perfect stance...need to go lower and maximize camber
2. Front lip of some sort to drag
3. Plaid interior
4. Something with my valve cover
5. Floor idea in the rear hatch
6. Shave mid wing
7. Fix ABS
8. Roof Rack? Basket??
9. Keep it running so I don't have another Carlisle episode

Little early, but thought I'd go ahead and make a list...haha. Even though I can't show I'd still like to get the approval of the VW crowd.

yeah mach. with your new wheels you can just throw on a roof rack and people will think your a gti

I think thats a Florida dub, i always see it around

anyways my close friend Dario (hint the signature) owns a vdub; let me tell you, this is his daily schedule when it notices h20 is approaching. sleep, work, nap, work on car, sleep, work, nap, work on car, etc.
He asked me if i wanted to go up there with him. I might just go

my car had better be fixed before the show or i'm gonna be pissed.

Hmmm this I might haev to go to. I will have just returned from Germany with a bag full of MKV Jetta goodies.

Thanks for remembering to post that info.....so soon too! Hmmm....looks like a REAL nice place and 5th street is a pretty good location (off Philly or Baltimore ave. is the best). I wish it was a tad cheaper, but a few of us can split the costs and share a room with someone so that makes it more affordable. Every year I save my spare change up and then cash it in for a vacation. It use to be for the Nopi Nationals in Atlanta, but now it's for H20. I'm pretty certain that I have $300 already so that would take care of the room :)

So I've been doing some research because I would like to get my room booked for H2O by the end of this month. The Tidelands Caribbean Hotel that your friends are staying at definitely looks nice and pretty nice location, but it is pretty pricey. I plan on staying 3 nights (unsure if I am staying Thurs-Sun or Fri-Mon yet) and it would cost $560 to stay there!! That's $186 a night! To my surprise a LOT of the hotels are fairly expensive and this is at the end of September! They must know about the show or something. I really wish we could ALL stay at the same place though. Let me know if you guys find it any cheaper, but right now I am looking at the Casablanca or the Carousel which will be about $100 cheaper total for 3 nights.

69 MORE DAYS TILL H2O!

I'm still debating what days to stay as well. The BBQ is saturday, and the actual show is Sunday. I'm thinking i might just head down saturday morning and stay until monday. I'd like to get some actual beach time in there as well, though.

#34 ·
Well damn, I might be heading up all alone :( My friends want to head up on Thursday for some damn reason. Also you guys need to give Shawn hell because he told me he doesn't think he is going. I'm 98% sure I am going Friday and leaving Monday. Nothing really happens on Thursday, but the WaWa Rally is on Friday and that's when most of the people arrive in Ocean City. Sunday is the show so I don't want to leave that night becuase I'll be tired and want to keep the night driving to a minimum. So that's why I plan on leaving Monday around noonish. It's actually a tad farther then Carlisle for me (395 miles one way).

So any thoughts on the hotel situation?? Really looking into the Casablanca..why not save about $100 since all the room will be used for is 6-7 hours of sleep each night and showers.

Well guys, I'd really like to stay with yall, but I just can't justify paying well over $400 for 3 nights stay. So I narrowed down my search to the Casablanca Hotel (http://casablancaoceansideinn.com/index.php). It looks to be fairly nice and in a good location close to where everything is happening. It may be a dump, but that's a chance I have to take....can't be any worse then the Seabonay...haha. Online I found a total price of $385 for 3 nights (Friday-Monday), but on Casablanca's website you can reserve a room for the same 3 nights (Sept. 25-28) for $220-$360 depending on the type of room! Just figured I would let you guys know in case anyone else was looking for a fairly cheap place to stay. Hopefully I won't be the only focus in the parking lot
