Hey everyone, I am curious as to how you do the handicapping for th eFocus challenge? What do you add fo and how much ?

We may have run with some of you at buttonwillow on mothers day, that was our first attempt at a time challenge event.

I would just like to compare what they came up with for us as far as handicapping vs what they have for the focus.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I did search before posting but didnt come up with the info. Maybe I didnt use correct terms for search ?

Thanks in advance for any info you are willing to share.

The handicapping system is complex. The one created for the time attack is a flat handicapping system, where the focus challenge one is a weighted handicapping system of sorts.

It's very hard to explain. I'm one of a few who run the focus challenge, and am one of two who built it from the ground up including the handicapping system.

Basically mods are mods and are categorized. Each car has a different starting point. We dont assume that a zx3 is the same as an SVT focus. And we dont assume that a cat elim pipe is going to function the same as it would on an SVT etc... so all mods are weighted. There is still alot of work to be done to the handicapping system to make it alot better. Mostly addressing forced induction better, and changing the tire system to a system based on UTGQ rating.

Hope that helps a bit.

Edit, no worries on the search. I'm pretty sure the one thread that had some info about the hdcp system is probably archived now. But to find it you should search under focus challenge in the So Cal forum!
