Friend of mine just called me wanting to know what this might be.
2002½ zx5 5 spd.
Says that every once in a while there will be a puff of white smoke coming out of the engine bay and it smells almost like candle wax.
My response: Maybe it could be the smell of synthetic oil dripping out of the valve cover onto the exhaust manifold, but I'm not sure since I have never smelled burning synthetic oil. IIRC, a key ingredient in synthetic oil is paraffin wax, but then again I could be way off target here.
Has anyone had this happen?
