has anybody ever heard of an aftermarket head gasket, or something better than the stock one?

well i put a higher copresion head on about ten thousand miles ago and ive already blown the head gasket

If you blew a headgasket in 10,000 miles then there is something wrong. either the head or the deck isn't completely smooth or flat.

I'd call up the guys at McNews(www.mcnewsautomotive.com) and see what they say. They've probably had more heads off Zetec Foci than most plus they sell heads. My guess would be that they'll have the advice and the gasket you'll need.

ya im hoping its flatness issue but i really havent had time to pull it all apart again and look at it. my exhaust cam also slipped a tooth and really hoping i didnt break something worse.

Jegs has some aftermarket ones. I don't trust Ford anymore for getting them, the last 4 I ordered were defective (water and oil holes not stamped out).
