anyone tried to make the heater control cable longer in a 2000-04 focus. i am trying to move my to the glove box and the cable loop is not long enough. i was wondering if any one knows of a way to make the cables longer.

Not sure how to do it because you'll need to extend the line that changes the direction of the air flow as well because if you don't do that you won't be able to adjust it from blowing the windscreen/shield or out towards you from the dash or down round your feet.
Why do you wanna put them in your glove box ???

i want to clean up the center, and i was thinking of cutting both and crimping on new cable on both sides. but then it needs to be strait because of it moving smothly. i didnt know if anyone knew of anther car with one that was longer. the other way is to get a throttle cable and moding it to work.

Right gotcha, i spose you could try the throttle cable idea, when you mount the controls in the glove box you could maybe mount them sideways so the air direction cable goes straight through the side of the glove box and into/behind where the controls were before, that would probbly keep the amounts of twists and turns down to a minamim,if you mount them facing forward there would be a twist in the cable going towards the center of the console then another as it then bends towards the engine bay direction i should imagine, but if you do them sideways there would probbly be only one bend towards the engine bay direction if yeh know what i mean ?? just an idea. When you say clean it up, how do you mean ? are you going to just fill it in some how so its smooth or are you thinking of putting something in it's place ?

I know it's your car and it's complety up to you what yeh do with, but i would think it's gonna look pretty plain, cause it's a bigish area to smooth out and leave blank, but like i said, it's your car so ignore me lol, make sure you put some photos up after its done, i might think different when i've seen it.
