Let me start by saying I have wanted a set of these headlights since I found them on the "no-no" site 4 years ago. I never bought a set due to the cost of them, and his reputation with shipping headlights.

Fast forward to about a month ago. I found them on ebay US by chance, some company in the US imported a bunch of them. I did a search on FJ, resurrected a Zombie thread, and the buzz started. Then I found out about a group buy here on FJ for the lights. I couldn't say no.

I bought a set from the group buy and they came this weekend.

They were packed EXCELLENTLY

No broken tabs here!

Overall, I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with these lights! They are BETTER than MACHs in my opinion. They fit better than my stock SVT lights did, and even my old MACHs or ST170s.

The were COMPLETELY PLUG AND PLAY with my car (I did the MACH / ST170 wiring hack)


I will get better pictures with a clean car soon, I just couldn't wait to get pictures of them up.



These are seriously awesome lights. Indescribably awesome.

And the Dynabeams are halogen which can be upgrade to HIDs. The dynabeams are the bending ones, correct?

Well, I got mine today. Looks awesome! Packed well, nothing broken. It's the first set of "perfect" headlights I have owned, the rest being second handed. I was wanting to paint them black, but they look kinda good the way they sit. Maybe down the road.

But don't expect a tutorial from me, I'm waiting on that like the rest of yous guys. :evilgrin: Wiring ain't my thing.

Me too, mine are still "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" though

These will also be my first set of brand new lights, I'm excited!

Expect a how-to from me on monday, maybe tuesday at the latest

I am back home, will be playing with them in the morning!

I got stranded in Miami with an overheating Focus, and had to wait for my dad to drive down with a trailer this morning and we trailered it back. It was a nice 7 hour ride home.

Got 11.4MPG on the ride home

I guess that's what I get for borrowing a car to keep the miles off my car

I really appreciate it! We had the plan figured out Friday night, he just couldn't come down until Sunday. It worked out, I got to spend one more day in Paradise But that meant I had to spend another day away from the Dynabeams

They are very easy to adjust. They adjust just like MACHs.

I can try to get some shots of the cutoff/light throw tonight

I adjusted my lights last night (the HIDs), they were super super easy to adjust.


I will be playing with a set of Dynabeams in about 2.5 hours

Made some progress on the DynaBeams today:

As far as functionality of the headlights goes (low beam, high beam, turn signal, and running light), they are completely plug and play if your car is wired for MACHs or Euro headlights (ST170s, InPros, Chrome Facelifts). If you plug them in, the lights will function as proper headlights.

Here's where it is not plug and play. If you want the DynaBeam function to work, there is additional wiring that needs to be done. I am 99% sure I know what to do to make it work, I just need to buy another wiring lead from VW to hook it up. I will keep you guys updated with what I figure out.


But for right now, it has been confirmed that the DynaBeams are plug and play for basic headlight functionality (high beams, low beams, parking lights, and turn signals. To get the DynaBeam (swiveling headlights) to function there is some additional wiring that needs to be done


Also, bustonit is continuing his attempts to source a wiring harnesses to make the DynaBeams plug and play with US spec Focuses. This adapter harness will be similar to the old Ford Racing adapter harness that came with the Ford Racing MACH headlights
