_____________________________________Hello again fellow Jetters!

Here we have another awesome [FJ] member opportunity to once again save your hard earned money, this time on one of the best BNIB headlight sets available for the 2000-2004 Ford Focus: Genuine Hella Euro Dynabeam dynamic bending headlights !!! The updated appearance with trick Celis strip side accent lighting complete the style of these Hella jewels. These kits are made available to us at incredible prices by Bora Parts.

Before this goes any further, mad props go out to focaljet-1, FORDSVTPARTS, and Peloton25 for working with me to bring this buy to you! Thanks guys.

A special note of thanks goes out to SVT3658 who's enthusiasm and dedication to working out the wiring for installation is a huge contribution for all of us.

Note:

>The Dynabeam kit is a halogen projector set up with dynamic bending headlight aiming.

***Xenon with Dynabeam headlights are not available nor part of this Group Buy***

The Dynabeam halogen H7 high and low beam projectors are Euro Ford version headlights (signal indicators in headlight housing) and require additional harness connectors and wires to complete the install. See this how-to by SVT3658 for the Dynabeam specific vw harness hack.
>Note, for current Mach or ST170/facelift owners, there have been a couple of installations so far by members swapping from Machs or ST170/facelifts and it was completely plug and play. So before working on the hack, set the headlights in their positions and plug them in to test your connection. If your Dynabeams do not function correctly, then check out the how-to listed above.

>These headlights are RHD and will need to be switched internally for LHD. See Post # 3 for how to do this.

Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

soo i dont have alot of experience with HID's and Projectors and all...can any of you explain to me what poeple are talking about with the "retrofitting" and "ballasts"...

also im having a hard time with aiming these... is there a speacial method? you cant aim these side to side can you?

ive seen some pics of peoples HIDs and projectors and they have a distinct pattern. these hellas dont. i mean they have left side pattern and right side pattern, but they dont come together and arent as clean as some pics iv seen...im just confused because these are supposed to be great lights.

Retrofitting is taking projectors from another set of headlights and putting them into the headlights you are upgrading.

Ballasts are in your HID kit you bought seperate from the headlights. They are the rectangular boxes. You will have 2.

Aiming should be straight forward. One adjustment knob controls horizontal movement and the other controls vertical movement. I have asked Josh to touch base with you on doing this.

Josh will be in touch. It may not be till this evening.

So from my understanding... you have successfully installed HIDs into the Dynabeams? Would you happen to have any pics?
Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

He has but I cannot recommend gluing anything (the brackets) to the bulbs.
Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

The "Before" pic in post #279 inspired me to make a suggestion to any of you buying these lights: go have a pro put some clear Lamin-X on 'em before you install.

Seriously. I did that to the brand-new MACHs I retrofitted 2.5 years ago, and they still look absolutely mint. (Granted, they're not being baked in the Florida sun daily...)
Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

i posted on an earlier post that i actually did not glue the brackets. however with the hid bulbs in with the stock bracket the bulbs bounce a little with bumps.

also one of my headlights is actually broken internally so i cant aim the left side at all so i couldnt tell you how good the light output actually is.

Honestly i would probably just go with the HID lights with no dynabeams as it will take a little work to get these to work at 100% with HID.

i may look into retrofitting an HID projector into the dynabeams if anyone has ANY info on this.

can it be done? what HID projectors can you use? and can you modify the existing one to work with HID bulbs better?

these lights look so sexy though cant wait to see if i can get my left side fixed.

Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

isn't the cutoff supposed to go the other way?

Also, I broke all but one tab off my grille so now it doesn't stay put :bang: ... it was a long long day.

yes it is. your lights are set up for right hand drive as they are. you just have to flip the metal thing around on the inside of the projector.

Looks like you got an RHD set. There is a way to clock them to LHD. Contact SVT3658. He knows these inside and out. He can help you.

I'll explain it the best I can.

Take the headlights off your car, and remove the back cover.

Look inside, and on both sides of the projector you will see little metal tabs that come out from behind the projector then bend and come toward you. Grab a skinny screwdriver, and stick it in there and slide the metal tab either up or down, depending on where it is at. IIRC, with the headlights NOT in RHD setting, the tabs are aligned like this:

,O' (imagine the "O" being the projector and the "," and " ' " being the metal tabs)

FYI, when I got mine one was set to RHD and the other wasn't. Every one else: before you take them off and switch them, test them first so you don't have to do i he process again.

When it's dark, grab a towel and go park your car in front of a wall. Turn both lights on, and cover one headlight up with the towel so you can see what pattern the other it.

If it is RHD then it will look like this:

\_

If it is set to LHD (neutral) it will look like this:

__

And once you both have them switch out of RHD they will go from looking like this

\_ \_

to looking like this

__ __

There will be no step up towards the right, they will just have a flat cutoff.

I hope that helps.

Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

Post 3 has been updated for RHD to LHD instructions.
Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

Wait a minute, so the headlights being sold are all RHD?
Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

No. If however you get a kit set for RHD, Hella gave the projectors two clockable settings.
Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

Is there any way to check before install? Just sit them in there and follow steps above I guess? Anyone have this issue with the Dynabeams? Just curious if this is more of a HID issue.

Dynabeams are super easy to switch. If your kit part number is
1ZL 009 488-851, it is set for RHD and you will need to move the switch.

I looked at my Dynabeams, and the switch is easy to find and "flick" with a flat head screwdriver. It takes like a second.

As far as checking to see, Josh suggested before bolting them in to cover one up and check the beam pattern against the wall. If you see this \_ cutoff, then you need to switch the projector.

I am not sure if all the HID's have the same part number or not. I have searched everywhere for part numbers, and will be asking Aaron at Bora Parts to check the HID kits and get the part numbers. Once I have them, I can look to see which kit part numbers are set to LHD and RHD.

We're getting there. Actually we are getting by better than the Golf and Jetta guys who went through an ordeal getting these headlights to work in their USDM cars back when they were full price (if that is any consolation).

Both of the headlights I got -- DynaBeam and Xenon -- had one light set to RHD and the other was not. It is really easy to switch them ... it takes more time to take off the rear cover than it does to switch them
Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

so where do i get these?
Re: Hella Xenon HID & Dynabeam Headlight Buy!!

so where do i get these?
The purchase information is in the first post, but basically all you have to do is send your paypal payment to [email protected] and include your FJ ID in the notes section of the payment screen. It is $488 for the halogen Dynabeams and $519 for the Xenon HID headlights. Those are shipped prices for the US48.

Upon receipt of your payment, I will confirm your payment and place your order. Tracking information will be forwarded as soon as it is available.

Any questions, just let me know. :)
