I want to get a Steeda Tri-Ax STS.

My car was built in 9/01 according to the door jamb sticker, indicating I should be looking for the early style Tri-Ax.

I look at my shift knob and it looks like a cross between the two examples Steeda has on their website. It has the general shape of the late style knob but the shift pattern looks more like the early style knob. This is what is throwing me off.

I don't have any pics because I don't have access to a digital camera at the moment.

Can you guys help me figure this out, or should I just go with the early style shifter based on the build date and pray to God it works out.

go with an early style. 2002.5 build dates is when they changed the tower. You could also look under your shift boot, as the two look much different than each other. I can explain if you want but you have an '01 build date so it doesn't really matter.

good luck
