Hennessey Performance ready to tap 2010 Ford Taurus SHO's potential

Charles, one of our eagle-eyed readers, came across this page on the Hennessey website announcing plans to offer upgrades for the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO. A quick email and a subsequent phone call from Mr. Hennessey himself confirmed that the power-obsessed tuner is hoping to exploit the new SHO's potential later this year.

John, a former first-gen SHO owner himself, was impressed with the new SHO's specs when it was revealed last week, and the hope is that enthusiasts will start looking for modifications once sales begin later this year. At the onset, expect intake and exhaust mods, followed by a boost controller, turbo and intercooler upgrades and possibly some suspension tweaks.

Since Ford is primarily marketing its line of EcoBoost engines towards fuel-conscious consumers, there's little doubt that the automaker left something on the table. We're sure tuners are ready to take up the challenge, and it looks like John and his team will be at the forefront.

All that aside. I think that it's great that SOMEONE is stepping up to mod the new SHO, and see what it's potential is.

If a year went by with nobody touching the SHO people would complain about that too.

Its Hennessey, but somehow once you get to critical mass its like you can rape a baby seal in the eye socket and upload it to youtube, and it just doesn't seem to matter. Sure, everyone that knows you hates you, yet SOMEONE out in the big world still ends up throwing money at you. Crazy.
You... uh....

...

... need to talk about this?

I'm just curious as to how they plan on "tapping in" to the SHO, considering it hasn't even hit showroom floors yet.

But  to EcoBoost tuners. If anyone can step up to ECU tuning like the VW tuners have with their turbo engines, this could be a lot of fun in the future.

If someone has announced that they are going to step up to the plate, then they probably already have a preproduction model to work with.

Search for "hennessy" [sic] here? http://www.bbb.org/online/consumer/default.aspx

I did a search for Hennessey and got...
Hennessey Contractors Inc, (WA, 98230).
The guys are onto the history and he has both great stuff and some nasty's. I believe he worked on the Time Attack 4 cyl chevy that was fastest overall a few years back. Of course it was a 250k effort with unlimited soft compound tires

Geez, I thought Walter Marcy screwing me out of $80 three years ago was bad...

This is insane, to imagine a guy as well-known and renowned as Hennessey taking peoples cars and parting them out...

I used to daydream in school about having one of the Venoms featured in Car and Driver, but now the name's kinda disgusting, gotta admit.

I think you are thinking of John Heinrecy.....

Hennessey had nothing to do with that Cobalt as far as I could tell...
